Photos that actually help after a crash
Wide shots establish the road, lighting, and lane position. Close shots show bumper height, paint transfer, and whether a light was shattered. Both matter.
Photograph the other vehicle’s plate, insurance card if it is offered, and any nearby cameras — storefronts, buses, doorbells. A later request for video is easier when you can name the building.
If anyone is injured, medical photos of bruising over the following days often explain delayed symptoms better than the scene photos alone. Keep originals. Do not edit them.
